Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jani and his family as he endures this difficult situation — we wish our dear friend the best. The band issued this statement to Blabbermouth.com: “It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce that Jani Lane will no longer be performing with Warrant. From the beginning of our reunion talks to the last note of our last show together in Houston this past weekend [on August 31 at Rock the Bayou], we have had nothing but good intentions of bringing a quality original Warrant show to our fans and friends. We wish Jani nothing but the best and remain friends. We are very excited that we have found an unbelievable voice in Robert Mason, an old friend of the band. We have three dates confirmed, come out and judge for yourself… We don’t think you will be disappointed!”

Bret Michaels is looking for love again on Rock of Love 3, except this time, he'll be on the road and at Rock The Bayou! Rock of Love 3 will be filming at Rock The Bayou this Labor Day weekend, and portions of the festival will appear on VH1's Rock of Love Bus with Bret Michaels premiering in early 2009.

Rock The Bayou Approves All BBQ Pits/Grills at Campgrounds • Posted At 2:12 PM

Previously, certain grills had been prohibited from entering campground facilities at Rock The Bayou due to open flame restrictions. While still maintaining high safety standards, Rock The Bayou officials have now permitted campers to bring BBQ pits/grills into the facility. That being said, please keep in mind these safety measures for a fun and safe camping experience: Fire Extinguisher: Minimum rating of 2-A:10-B:C; must have full charge and be accessible at all times Charcoal: Must be Match Light or Quick Light; use of starter fluid is prohibited; provide a metal pan under BBQ pit to prevent ashes from falling onto the ground Propane: Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks; drippings from gas grills must not fall onto the ground Trash: Keep your area clear of trash; avoid allowing trash to accumulate around BBQ pits; deposit trash into bins Pit Safety: Keep combustible materials at least three feet away from pits; placement of pits should be such that passers-by cannot come into contact with the pit; watch for children playing in the area; do not leave burning pits unattended; do not place hot pits or coals in or under your vehicle; allow time for pits to cool Generators: Use of generators is allowed, however fuel must be stored in approved metal safety cans with spring loaded lid and flashback guard

Each night of the event, Rock The Bayou will be showing a movie on a large, drive in-like movie screen. The movies will include the following: Fri., August 29 - This Is Spinal Tap (R) Sat., August 30 - Wayne's World (PG) Sun., August 31 - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (R) Mon., September 1 - Heavy Metal (R) Please note the ratings of each movie in case you have children under 17. All minors must be accompanied by an adult or a security officer will have to escort you off the Bayou Grounds.

Now more than 100 bands will take three stages during the four-day Rock The Bayou festival in Houston this Labor Day holiday. Word of the Houston Labor Day Weekend music extravaganza has spread beyond the far reaches of the continental United States, drawing fans from countries as far away as Japan, Denmark and Venezuela, and states as distant as Alaska. All told, Rock The Bayou tickets have been sold in eight countries and 29 states, making Houston a top destination for music lovers come Labor Day. Newly included -- performances by Kix, Vain, Dirty Penny, and Beautiful Creatures have been now added to the Rock The Bayou lineup. Rock The Bayou has also booked a rare performance, Swedish guitar prodigy Yngwie Malmsteen, as his only United States appearance this year. Pretty Boy Floyd has also been added to the Monday lineup on the main stage. Please note that Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Bret Michaels of Poison, Queensryche, and over 100 other bands on three stages will be performing live and in person at Rock The Bayou this Labor Day weekend. These are not cover bands!

Ali Fazeli, independent promoter of the The Fazeli Group for Rock The Bayou, will begin writing a regular blog to offer insider news about the festival, while celebrating the hard rock genre and Rock The Bayou’s legendary lineup. Fazeli also hopes to address key issues about the burgeoning music festival. “We’re trying to make Rock The Bayou as accessible as possible,” says Fazeli, president of The Fazeli Group. “It makes sense to give music fans a chance to gets news about a festival directly from the producer. Rock The Bayou has added pop metal legend Lita Ford, lead guitarist and international pop metal legend, to an already impressive lineup. Also announced is the addition of seminal 80’s hard rockers L.A. Guns, Jackyl, Bang Tango and Faster Pussycat. Ford, the former lead guitarist of the Runaways – acknowledged as the first successful all-girl rock band – garnered hits in several countries during her noteworthy career. Rock The Bayou will be only her second performance in 15 years! Glam metal heroes L.A. Guns gained fame on the Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip during the early 1980s influencing a host of bands and eventually forming the “Guns” half of Guns N’ Roses, a band featuring Axl Rose and Tracii Guns. Jackyl developed a distinctive blend of metal and Southern rock. Faster Pussycat also hails Los Angeles with a 1989 album “Wake Me When It’s Over,” which sold more than 500,000 copies and fostered a large cult following. Bang Tango fuses funk, hard rock and glam metal, reaping MTV success with its single “Someone Like You,” from their album Psycho Café. Catch these bands and more on three stages this Labor Day weekend for an unforgettable festival at Rock The Bayou!
